Dear Parents,
I have written this short note to update you as to the goings-on in our class.
First, I have decided to start distributing your child’s blue folders on Mondays instead of Friday. This is because much of our testing usually falls on Friday. Distributing our folders on Monday will make Friday a less hectic day.
Second, there is growing excitement about our Celtics game in December. The trip will cost $30, the cheapest price we could find this season. If your child would like to go, their money must be sent in by November 15. The $30 does include the price of the ticket and transportation from the school to the game, and then back to the school. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
Finally, if you ever need to get a hold of me, please do so! You can always e-mail me at principal@nbc-sscs.org. I check this e-mail address often, day and night.
We’re off to a great start this year, keep up the good work!
Because of Grace,
Pastor Thompson

Dear K5 Parents,
September is apple month. What a great, healthy treat! We will have an APPLE DAY on Wednesday, September 26 (Johnny Appleseed’s birthday). Please have your child bring in:
(1) One whole apple
(2) An apple “treat” to share (ie. cookies, juice, apple crisp, ect…)
(3) A picture or storybook about apples
Learning CAN be fun… and delicious, too!

Dear Parents,
South Shore Christian School has asked that when sending microwaveable lunches with your students, that you limit these meals to warm-ups that only require 2-3 minutes. We have also asked not to send in “TV dinner” type meals, as they take longer to heat. This is also stated on page 10 of our student handbook. We wanted to remind you of this because of our limited time and resources.
In a typical 30-minute lunch period, as many as ten to twenty students in your child’s classroom may have meals to be microwaved. If each child’s lunch required microwave time of two or three minutes, that would require as much as forty to sixty minutes of time to heat up each lunch. This means that some students may have to wait long periods of time (with a very short time for actually eating) or go without a lunch altogether.
We want to be fair to every student. So, we are asking all parents to limit their microwavable lunches to meals requiring only 1-2 minutes of heat. When possible, try to send a lunch that does not require heating up, such as a sandwich. This will help alleviate some lunch time stress and make life a little easier for our hard-working teachers.
Thank you for your co-operation.

Kevin Thompson;
Principal

All children in grades one through six are invited to attend Kidz Club each Wednesday evening at 7:00 through 8:00pm right here at North Baptist Church. The Kidz Club meets upstairs in the library (Pastor Thompson’s classroom).
Each Kidz Club includes singing, games, a Bible lesson, and snacks.
During this same time, adults are welcomed to join us downstairs for a thought-provoking Bible Study.

Each Wednesday, South Shore Christian School students attend a chapel service just for them. There they enjoy singing and listening to sound Bible message geared toward their age. We are blessed to have many different speakers throughout the year come and preach for them, along with familiar faces such as Pastor Thompson, Mr. Jacobs and Pastor Laitres.
But, chapel is not just limited to students, all parents and families are invited to come as well. If you are in the area, why not come in and enjoy chapel for yourself? Each Wednesday at 10:30am, you are welcome to come and join us!
