Achievement Testing Next Week
Dear Parents,
Next week grades K5 through sixth will be taking their annual achievement tests. This testing helps us evaluate not only our students, but also how well we are doing as a school. These testing results will not appear on your child’s report card, but will be mailed to you when they have been properly scored and returned to us. Results of this test do not determine whether your child passes or fails his grade this year.
The following is a list of reminders that will help you next week:
School will start promptly at 8:00am. Testing will also begin at this time. Students arriving late (after 8:00am) will not be allowed to enter their classroom while a test is in session, as it is a distraction to others. They must wait by the office with Mrs. Jacobs until they are allowed to enter into the classroom to take the next test. Any test missed due to tardiness must be made up after school.
Students absent from school due to sickness will be required to make up any missed test the following week (April 9-13, 2007)
Students should go to bed early each night so they will not be tired during the test.
A good, healthy breakfast each morning will help students to think clearly without hunger.
Make sure your child comes to school with several pencils and erasers each day. Pencils must be number 2 pencils. Most pencils are number 2, but not all. Please be sure to check. Double check to make sure any mechanical pencils are indeed number 2 pencils. This number has to do with the amount of lead in each pencil.
During testing week, students will still have snack, recess and lunch times.
To help make this a less stressful time, no homework, tests, or quizzes will be assigned during this week. Also, testing will only be conducted in the morning and will end at about lunchtime.
Because of Good Friday, there will be no school Friday, April 6, 2007.
If you have any questions, please contact the school office at (50
580-1400.
