Chapel Round-Up
It has been a little while since our chapel messages have been posted on our blog, so this is our attempt to catch up to where we should be.

To everyone’s delight, Pastor Laitres made an unexpected appearance in chapel. Pastor Laitres spoke on enemies that we all have as Christians. Using I John 2:16-17, he warned identified these enemies as the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.

Last Monday brought a very special chapel service. An overly enthusiastic Pastor Thompson told the story of Naboth’s Vineyard found in I Kings 21. The students enjoyed hearing each character described vividly and were cautioned to be sure their sin would find them out.

Today was our quarterly awards chapel. We were greatly pleased to see many of our parents in attendance. They came out to see many of our students receive awards for the second grading quarter. The awards given were: honors (all A’s and B’s), high honors (all A’s and 1 B), and then highest honors (all A’s). Our students have been working hard and we are very proud of their achievements.
Before the awards ceremony, Pastor Thompson spoke on the possibility of affording a mansion in which to live. From John 14:1-3, he showed us that to have a prepared place in Heaven; we do not need money – for Jesus has paid it all. We need only to accept His free gift of salvation, offered to all who would receive it.

Mr. Jacobs spoke in chapel concerning the heart. We looked at four different types of hearts that we could have. We saw the sinful heart, the trusting heart, the tender heart and finally the surrendered heart.

A special Thursday chapel was held this week due to the school cancellation on Wednesday. Pastor Thompson retold the love story of Ruth and Boaz. The story begins with a bitter Naomi, saddened over her circumstances and ends with a rejoicing Naomi holding her newborn grandson. God had provided a redeemer for Ruth and Naomi. God has provided us a redeemer in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ.
