For the past year it has been our pleasure to provide transportation both to and from our Kidz Club each Wednesday evening. However, due to recurrent problems concerning our church van, we are no longer able to continue this. All SSCS children are still welcome to attend, but other means of transportation must be arranged. We wish this were not the case, but unfortunately this was a decision that had to be made.
Just to be clear, Kidz Club will continue to meet each Wednesday evening from 7:00 through 8:15. However, transportation will no longer be provided.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Yesterday’s chapel was a rare treat. It is not often that an actual SSCS graduate is the speaker! Tim Reid, SSCS Class of 2005, spoke to our students about God’s plan for their lives. Using the examples of Saul and Joseph, Tim showed us how God has plan for everyone’s life, but too often our own wrong choices keep from experiencing God’s perfect will. Yet, as Joseph showed us – that doesn’t have to be the case!

Our South Shore Christian School Night was a great success. We were very pleased to see many of our students come out to the closing night of our Looking to Heaven in 2007 Revival Meetings. Mrs. Reid’s 2-3 grade class had the most in attendance that night and won a free pizza party!
Evangelist Kent Prain spoke on what he referred to as the saddest chapter in the entire Bible – Genesis chapter 19. The story of lot is one of self-centeredness and wrong choices. Even Christians may be guilty of these problems. Listen to the sermon right here:

Tuesday in Chapel, Brother Kent Prain spoke on the armor of God we must wear in order to withstand the fiery darts of Satan. As Christians, we are soldiers in a battle. We must be careful as we protect ourselves from such darts as pride, lying, stealing, and cheating.

Tuesday evening saw even more SSCS students in attendance. It is always great to see our children getting excited about the preaching of God’s Word! Evangelist Prain spoke from John 3 on the subject of the new birth. What does it mean to be born again? Why did Nicodemus mention anything about age? The answer may surprise you and a little more insight on this familiar passage.

Monday marked the first day of the Looking to Heaven in 2007 Revival here at SSCS. Evangelist Kent Prain not only spoke for us in chapel, but visited each of the kindergarten classes to give them a Bible lesson as well. (Click on each picture for a larger view)

In our special Monday chapel, Evangelist Prain spoke on the 10 Commandments. After he fully explained each one, he further explained that we are guilty of breaking them! The 10 Commandments were given to show us our need for salvation.

In the evening service, we were blessed to have some of our SSCS Students come out to hear Brother Prain once more. One eager student even brought a group of his friends along so that they might hear the preaching!
The evening message was based out of Mark 5 and the Madman of Gadarea. Using this passage, Evangelist Prain showed what changes whena man is brought to Jesus. After salvation, not only does our eternal destiny change, but our actions, speech, dress, thoughts and even desires change.

Last week in chapel, Pastor Thompson spoke on the issue of authority from Romans chapter thirteen. We all have authorities in our lives that we must obey. We must not only obey them, but given them what is required of us and pray for them as well. Those in authority must remember that their power comes from God. They ought to use this power to reward those who are doing good and punish those who are doing evil. Chapel concluded with a prayer for all of our newly elected government officials.
