Today in chapel, Mr. Jacobs preached a great message on a timely topic. Starting in Ephesians 6:12, Mr. Jacobs showed us form the Bible why Christians should not celebrate Halloween. His four reasons were:
I. Because it Glorifies Death (Romans 5:12)
II. Because it Honors Satan and His Demons (II Peter 5:
III. Because People Sin on Halloween (I Corinthians 10:21)
IV. Because God Himself Hates It (Psalm 119:104)
As always, you can download the mp3 file right here.

We had an exciting, special chapel on Tuesday of this week. Dr. James Earls, the Director of Black Church Planting for Baptist Home Missions, and his wife Beatrice were with us. Little did we know, Dr. Earls invited a friend of his to come up on the platform with him!

Dr. Earls preached from Acts 16:16-32. He spoke to our students about having a good attitude even when situations are not treating us so well. Never missing an opportunity to preach the gospel, Brother Earls took the time to also clearly explain that we must believe in Christ’s death, repent of our sin, and trust only in Jesus. You can listen to his message right here.

It was a great blessing to see many of our parents out for this event, as they came to see their children sing their songs and quote their Bible memory verses. They practised so hard and did a wonderful job!

Dr. James Earls is the Director of Black Church Planting for Baptist Home Missions in Efland, NC. According to his own testimony, “In 1961 God saved me, opened my eyes and let me know the problem is not skin, but sin; it’s not race, but grace. The solution is not in the genes, but in the blood of Christ.”
We would like to invite all of our parents and friends to this exciting chapel service. Come and hear Dr. Earls’ unique blend of humor, wit and Scriptural truth. Also, our students will be presenting special music numbers and Bible memory verses.

Dear Parents,
In recent weeks, our school parking lot has been very congested. Some of our parents are growing very irritated frustrated. Last week this resulted in one accident. We want to ensure the safety of all of our drivers, and we must make this parking lot safe for our students. Again, we would like to ask you to help us in this matter.
- Drop off your child as quickly as possible.
- Remember that even if there are no cars behind you when you first pull in, many more are on the way soon.
- When you pull into the lot, drive as far in as possible.
- Do not block the entrance to the school.
- Be mindful of other drivers trying to navigate their way around.
- Do not park or leave your car unattended in the middle of parking lot. We cannot continue to allow this because of the problems it is creating. If you wish to escort your child to the door, please park your car in a parking space first.
- Never leave your car parked on Snell Street, as this street is being used by other drivers.
- Please leave your child at the door with the attending teacher rather than escorting your child all the way into the building.
- The minutes before school begins are very busy, this is not a good time to talk with teachers. Perhaps a note will suffice or if further conversation is needed, please park your car and speak with our secretary to setup an appointment.
- Always remember there are children around!
Following these guidelines will help us create a much easier environment for you dropping off your children. We understand that you have busy schedules and do not need the irritation of a jammed-up parking lot. Even more important than this, we all have a responsibility for safety. Let’s work together and we’ll soon have this problem fixed!
Sincerely,
Pastor Kevin Thompson,
Principal

Back on October 4, we launched our You Can Do It…Spread the Word campaign. Everythign got started in chapel as Pastor Thompson exlpained why an effort like this is needed. First there is a Plan - God wants everyone everywhere to be saved. Second, there is a Principle - To be saved, you must trust Jesus as your Savior. Third there is a Problem - not everyone has even heard of Jesus. Finally comes our Project - to help send out Bibles to lands that have never has a copy before. You can listen to the mp3 right here.

In chapel last week, Mr. Jacobs spoke on what to do when the Heat is on. Based out of Daniel 3:1-6, Mr. Jacobs told us about the three Hebrew children who Showed Up (they had character), who Stood Up (they had conviction) and who Spoke Up (they had confidence). Download the message right here.

Dear K5 Parents,
“Even a child is known by his doings.” Proverbs 20:11
October already! Fall is here! I am training them to “fall” into good habits that they will use the rest of their lives. here are the top three:
- Sit Down
- Don’t Talk
- Listen up
Your child should know the following:
- Names of letters: Aa Ee Ii Oo Uu Tt
- Sounds of letters: a e i o u tttt
- How to write letters: Aa Ee Ii Oo Uu Tt
- Names of numbers 1-10 mixed up
- Can count 1-10
- Can write 1 and 2
Keep reviewing all these with your child daily. There are many who don’t know them.
Thank you for your help.
Your Child’s Teacher,
Mrs. Sommer
